The history of the nine Machine guns is as follows :-

5 Maxim Machine Guns Cal. 7.92

2 Browning Machine Guns, Cal.7.9.

Exported to Macau under C.I.D. Authority by Hong Kong

Sporting Arms Store on 5th January, 1935. Removal Permit No.11/35.

Origin.

29 Maxim Machine Guns were imported by the Hong Kong Sporting Arms Store for stock ex s. s. "Sauerland" on 8th Jamiary, 1931. Removal Permit No.14/31. Out of this consignment 24 guns were exported to Canton under Nanking huchao dated 13th December, 1930 on C.I.D. Authority, leaving the 5 guns remaining on stock.

The 2 "Browning" Machine Guns were imported for stock from the United States of America ex s. s. "New Orleans" on 15th

November, 1933. Removal Permit No.1339/33.

2. 1 "Lahti" Machine Gun.

Exported to Macau under C.I.D. Authority by Sander Wieler & Company on 12th January, 1935. Removal Permit No.39/35.

Origin.

This "Lahti" Machine gun was one of two similar guns imported by Sander Wieler & Company from Finland as samples, ex s.s. "Carnarvonshire" on 29th November, 1932. Removal Permit No.1592/32. The gun in question was sent to Amoy as a sample on 3rd April, 1933. It was returned to Hong Kong on 12th April,1933. (The other Lahti Machine Gun was exported to Canton as a sample by Sander Wieler & Company on 14th December, 1932.)

1 "Madsen" Machine Gun.

Exported to Macau on C.S.0. Authority on 16th January,1935. Removal Permit No.53/35.

Origin.

This gun was one of 200 Madsen Machine Guns which arrived at Kobe on 31st July, 1932, consigned to a Mr. Riva, then an arms dealer in Peking.
